High and Low Notes

Giving the most recent sharps and flats in life's journey.

Saturday, April 29, 2006

I have recently complied a lament prayer of mine, from a few years back, into a group of even stanzas. In the form of a constent pattern I have binded it to a chord progression that I wrote two summers ago. Needless to say, a new song is on its way to taking shape. This one does not have a name yet, but I would like to share the lyrics to it.

Before I share the words, the reader should know that this is written in the context of my journey in discerning the Holy Spirit's call of me to ministry. I could write a paragragh on each single line, but in the context of my current studies I simply do not have the time. But I still hope you enjoy reading and contemplating these lyrics with me:

1)
You have called on me
You will break my chains
I have looked away
Now my feet they fall

2)
Selfishness reaps loss
Love to earthly things
Trust in what has no end
In a world of sin

Chorus)
Lift me up, oh God
Bring me to Your peace
Make my suffereing cease
Grant to me your grace

Bridge)
This is just one mind
Consumed by Your eye
How could I contain
The problems of this world
